PMO – How Things Get Done in the ContractPro and ValuTrak Communities

Posted by Stacy Jackson
Have you ever wondered how a company like Answers Systems prioritizes software enhancements or major client/corporate initiatives are? Like many other businesses, we employ the Project Management Office (PMO) concept.
At the top of the PMO Governance document, you will find the following quote: “The PMO’s function is not to make people work, but to make it possible for people to work.” This applies in a couple of ways:
  • The PMO makes it possible for Answers Systems staff members to work on the key, important initiatives and stay focused on the major-impact projects for the ContractPro® and ValuTrak® Communities.
  • The PMO helps Answers Systems deliver roadmap features, client-specific projects, and new client integrations so that our users can leverage our tools and services in their contract and rebate management planning and everyday execution of trade promotion management and compliance management tasks.
Our Project Management Office is an organization that helps drive:
1.       Standards and Process Management
2.       Priority Management
3.       Resource Management
They work with the Account Managers, Product Managers, Product Development/IT, Professional Services and the various department heads to ensure all impacted departments understand expectations, deliverables, and timelines. The PMO is an essential, organizing body that ensures innovative ideas become our clients’ realities.
